About Kinesiology

Kinesiology was originally developed in the 1960's by Chiropractor Dr. George Goodheart in America. He discovered connections between muscles, meridians, reflex points and nutrition, and so brought together elements from Chinese medicine with cutting edge western research. This system is in use today by doctors, chiropractors and physiotherpapists - it is known as 'Applied Kinesiology'.

"There are two ways to live: you can live as if nothing is a miracle; you can live as if everything is a miracle." Albert Einstein

One of Dr. Goodheart's first students was his colleague Dr. John Thie. Together they continued research and in the 1970's Dr. Thie developed the system "Touch for Health" in order to make Kinesiology techniques available to the general public. Touch for Health (TfH) has since spread around the world, with it's simple yet highly effective methods valued by private individuals and health professionals alike. Since the dawn of TfH, Kinesiology has been adapted into many disciplines, Psychology, Educational Sciences, Nutrition and others. This brought about the many systems that go under the headings of 'Specialised Kinesiology' and 'Energy Kinesiology', for example Biokinesiology, Edu-K, Brain Gym, Wellness Kinesiology, Integrated Healing, Health Kinesiology.

All of them use muscle testing as a biofeedback to find out:

  1. the origin of a problem,
  2. the methods that best suits a particular person to improve well-being and balance in the most permanent way,
  3. to verify that the methods have worked.

Some types of Kinesiology incorporate healing modalities that work with subtle energies like our energy field or with emotions to heal physical illness or with vibrational remedies like homeopathics or flower essences. These ways of healing are called "Vibrational Medicine" or "Energy Medicine".
